Tim: These are great movies!
Tim: When you got movies like Tom Cruise in them, you can't lose.
Tim: Six bags of popcorn, two sodas.
Tim: It's on cinema at the cinema with me, your host, Tim Heidecker.
Tim: Hi everybody, my name is Tim Heidecker. You're watching another episode of On Cinema At the Cinema. The web series where we discuss different movies and what movies are coming out this weekend and also cinema in general. And hopefully give you guys a good idea of what's out there and what you might want to skip. My guest is Gregg Turkington.
Gregg: Hey guys, good to be here on On Cinema, yet again.
Tim: Thanks for being on the show.
Gregg: Of course, I loved being on the show and I'd love to keep being on the show. And I'd love for you to keep watching the show.
Tim: It's the same thing, just let me get through my card.
Gregg: Yep, yep.
Tim: You've seen these shows before.
Tim: You've seen how this works. Our first movie today is Snitch, doctor- Directed by Rick Roman Wahaa, or it's W-H-U-G, W-A-
Gregg: Vaughn I think it's pronounced Vaughn.
Tim: W-A-U-G-H.
Gregg: Oh, sorry. I thought it was V-A-U-G-H-A-N is Vaughan.
Tim: No, this is director Rick Roman Wahaa. And he's a no-name director, so. I can't- I can't know every director. This stars the great Dwayne Johnson, who I guess is not going by Rock anymore. And Susan Sarandon and Vince Velasquez, or I'm sorry, Nadine Velesquez, Mexican name. And this movie is about an undercover father for the DNA in order to free his drugs- or his son who is imprisoned after being set up by a drug deal. Yes, this was a very, very great film. I like this movie a lot. I should- Boy, it really did show a different side of The Rock.
Gregg: Yeah, and of the drug underworld too, which is an interesting world. I think if I was gonna go to the movies in some afternoon, I think I'd go see The Hobbit, which is still playing in a few theaters. It's not a first run movie, but if you haven't seen it, you really should see it. It's a classic.
Tim: But some of these cheaper theaters are not gonna, obviously, have the 3D abilities to show The Hobbit so would you still recommend seeing Hobbit?
Gregg: Well I mean, you had that for months. It's gonna be better than it's gonna be watching it on your computer at home. So this is kinda your last chance to see The Hobbit as it was meant to be seen.
Tim: All right, well, so I give a 4 bags of popcorn and a two cans of- two bottles of soda.
Gregg: I'm gonna give Snitch 4 bags of popcorn, but throw in one other bag for being so realistic and gritty for total of 5 bags.
Tim: And our second film today is Dark Skies with Carrie Russell, Dakota Goyo, and Josh Hamilton. And directed by another three-name director. I guess that's a new trend in cinema here. Director Scott Charles Stewart. Those are also three men's first names. So it could be just three men directing it and it just didn't get their last names.
Gregg: No, it's one guy. Because sometimes there's people with the same name, they put a middle name in. There's been so many movies, so many directors.
Tim: What I'm saying is this could have been a three person, like sometimes you have the Cohen Brothers or people like this. This could be Scott, Charles, and Stewart.
Gregg: It was probably there was already a Scott Stewart. So he had to make himself different than that guy and that's where you get the middle name.
Tim: Right. Well, I had an emergency and was not able to finish seeing the Dark Skies, so I'd give it a three bags with a traditional that I'm assuming it deserves four or five. And when I do see that, we'll update that on the website.
Gregg: You could give it five half-filled bags. Because if you saw the whole thing as I did, you would give it five bags, five half full bags. It sort of shows that it's incomplete. And that's what you want the viewers to understand.
Tim: All right, well, let's move on to our next segment, which is a new very new segment, a brand new segment called,
On Cinema Presents Popcorn Classics BTC. And what does the BTC stand for?
Gregg: Behind the curtain.
Tim: Behind the curtain.
Gregg: And in this new segment of mine, we're looking sort of pulling the curtain open and seeing what is really back there in Hollywood, meeting some of those-
Tim: It's essentially an interview segment where you interview a famous person. We have an honor of you getting to talk to this famous person. And that person is Joe Estevez.
Gregg: Joe Estevez, who I met at a recent film premiere.
Greg: And Joe Estevez is the brother of Charlie- Martin Sheen.

Gregg: Thanks, Tim, for welcoming us to this new segment. We're here with Joe Estevez. Good to see you, Joe.
Joe: Thank you.
Gregg: What actors do you think should get the Academy Award?
Joe: The- the actors for- coming up?
Gregg: Just in general.
Joe: Humphrey Bogart. There's so many that are just--
Gregg: And actresses too.
Joe: Yeah, yeah, eh...
Gregg: Of all the movies you've made, what are your 10 favorites?
Joe: South of Reno is a good movie. Jumping for Joy, terrible title. High on the Hog. Does that count if I can't think of the title?
Gregg: Yeah, that's fine.
Joe: Okay, alright- Oh, Bunyan! Bunyan. It's terrific.
Gregg: Does it Star Dr. Scholl?
Joe: No, it stars Joe Estevez.
Gregg: When one of your films comes out on videotape, do they mail you a box of them?
Joe: I have a lot of unopened DVDs and even DVDs.
Gregg: They're more collectible if you leave them sealed.
Joe: Well, there you go. I got some maybe you might be interested in then.
Gregg: I definitely would.
Gregg: When you go to the movies, do you like to have your popcorn with butter or just plain?
Joe: Plain, but with a lot of salt. And I get the big tub because you can go back and you can get that filled up again for free, most of the places, the second time around, so.
Gregg: Back to you, Tim. In the studio.
Tim: All right. Very interesting, seemed like a nice guy.
Gregg: Yeah, it was really nice. And it was a lot of fun getting to meet him, getting to know him.
Tim: And any secrets that you couldn't reveal during the interview, any kind of anything that you were surprised by?
Gregg: Well, we had sort of a conversation off the camera about soup and salad and things like that. He loves soup and salad bars and as do I. So that was kind of a nice little thing, getting to know each other.
Tim: Any- any particular..... particular secrets or anything like that?
Gregg: He likes the Soup Plantation, which is sort of a chain. It's a regional chain, but it's very good soup if you like cream of potato or cream of broccoli. And they do a good minestrone, and a big salad bar too.
Tim: All right. Soup plantation. Thanks for watching.
